Oil-Free Neroli and Honey Cleanser

Neroli and honey. Two words that instantly transport me to another world. Somewhere where my skin is warmed by the sun while overlooking a beautiful view of the countryside.

But did you know, neroli, honey, and the addition of a gentle cleansing agent called coco glucoside also make a beautiful, skin healing cleanser?

Coco glucoside is a plant-based surfactant used in many natural cleansers like those from Tom’s of Maine, Davines, La Roche Posey, and The Honest Company and many more.

You can use this cleanser twice a day by itself or as part of the water phase when using the double cleansing method.

Amount 100 grams

Ingredients

  • 59.84 grams Water 59.84%
  • 30 grams Organic Neroli Hydrosol 30%
  • 5 grams Honey 5%
  • .5 grams Xanthan Gum Soft .5%
  • .15 grams Locust Bean Gum .15%
  • 3.5 grams Coco Glucoside 3.5%
  • 1 grams Preservative Geogard ECT 1%
  • .01 grams Lactic Acid 90% .01%

Instructions

  1. Measure and combine water and hydrosol

  2. In a separate small cup measure honey.

  3. Measure xanthan gum and locust bean gum together. Very slowly add the gums into the honey while stirring until no lumps remain.

  4. Slowly add the honey, xatham gum, and locust gum mix into the water mix. Stir until all the gums are absorbed.

  5. Add coco glucoside and Geogard ECT. Mix very slowly to prevent coco glucoside from foaming.

  6. Test pH if you have test strips to lower the pH. This will help your skin as well as ensuring the cleanser is at the right pH for the preservative to work most effectively.

  7. Pour slowly into 2 2-ounce containers or a container of your choice. Label with the name and date.

  8. Use cleanser twice a day by itself or as part of the water phase when using the double cleansing method.
