Nailed it! There’s something so empowering about having beautifully manicured hands. It can simultaneously make us feel healthy, feminine, and perfectly “put together”.
On the flip side, having dry, cracked cuticles is not only unsightly but painful as well. Plus, we use our hands All. Day. Long. Having open cuts or compromised cuticles can leave us more susceptible to things like hangnails and infection.
Now, you don’t have to go spring for a professional salon manicure to get that clean, healthy, moisturized feeling! Get your nails into tip-top shape with this easy to mix, professional-level DIY cuticle oil.
This DIY cuticle oil recipe is based on the celebrity nail artist Deborah Lippmann’s cuticle oil ($20). Hers includes 4 main ingredients: Jojoba oil, coconut oil, mineral oil, and vitamin E. Although you can use mineral oil if you want to (most evidence suggests mineral oil is safe), I prefer to use plant-based oils and so have provided a substitute.
This balance of oils hydrates, smooths, and softens the skin without feeling greasy. Plus you get a LOT of bang for your buck; A little drop goes a long way!
